Winter Drumline
The Dakota Winter Drumline is a competitive extra-curricular indoor ensemble that consists of the marching percussion and front ensemble sections of a marching band. Members practice multiple times during the week and participate in two mini-camps. The Dakota Drumline will compete in Winter Guard International Sports of the Arts (WGI) Competitions and Michigan Alliance for Performing Arts (MAPA) Competitions. The MAPA State Finals and the WGI World Championships take place in April.
In 2019, the Dakota Winter Drumline placed 2nd at MCGC state championships earning the silver medal in their class. In 2020, the Dakota Winter Drumline was named WGI Regional Champions and was on their way to winning a state championship title as well as potentially being a WGI semi-finalist until the pandemic struck. In 2022 the Dakota Winter Drumline came in 2nd Place and received the Silver Medal at MAPA State Championships!
In 2023, The Winter Drumline received their first ever 1st place medal at MAPA State Championships! They also made it to semi-finals at WGI Worlds for second time. The same achievements were made in 2024. After many years of hard work and dedication, the group continues to accel and grow.
